BCUMC continues to be the uptown Beckley Warming Center!
When temperatures (with wind chill) fall to 15 degrees or lower, Beckley Community will open as the warming center for uptown Beckley. Beckley Community has partnered with the United Way to offer the Warming Center to anyone that needs a place to get a warm meal and out of the cold. The warming center is located downstairs in the Fellowship Hall and is staffed from 8 PM to 8 AM by volunteers trained by the United Way. Cots and bedding were provided by the New Vision Depot.
Follow the links below to learn more about the Warming Center’s impact on our community.
If you are interested in volunteering at the Warming Center please contact the church office or the United Way of Southern WV. You do not need to be a member of Beckley Community UMC to help.
